Our Hands Are Our Living, And I Had Never Once Looked After Mine

September, 2026 By Dave Mancini

I sat in the van for ten minutes after a shift last winter, opening and closing my hand until it worked properly. I am 49 and twenty three years an electrician. I put something about it on a trades thread expecting to get ripped, and for once nobody joked. What I got instead was a guy explaining what is actually inside a knuckle, which is not something anybody had ever said to me, and it is where somebody mentioned Strides Daily. That is what I take now. I did not buy it off a promise. I bought it because I turned a bottle over and counted. Five things nobody told me.

1. A knuckle is a joint, and a joint is four parts

Start here, because this is the bit that turned it around for me. A knuckle is a joint the same way a knee is. And a joint is four separate parts that do not move at the same speed.

The part

What supports it

How fast

The cushion

GlucosaGreen glucosamine

slow, weeks 4 to 8

The fluid

Hyaluronic acid

medium, weeks 3 to 6

Connective tissue

MSM

medium, weeks 3 to 6

Soreness the day after you use it

Turmeric, boswellia, white willow bark

fast, weeks 1 to 3

Every joint pill you have ever heard of is built around one of those four. Usually one, because a single active is cheap to make and easy to print on the front of a bottle.

2. Whatever you took and quit on is one of the seven

The bottle I take has seven actives covering all four parts. Turmeric is one of the seven. Glucosamine is one of the seven. Boswellia, MSM, hyaluronic acid, white willow bark and black pepper are the rest.

So whatever you tried once and wrote off was not fake and it was not nothing. It was a seventh, working on the fastest row of that table, while the other three went untouched. It did not fail you. It did a seventh of the job and you judged it on all four.

The thread I was on was full of men who had reached the same place from the other direction. One of them: “I’ve been in the trade since 99. I’ve noticed lately that my hands are cramping up really easily and they are starting to just ache a lot.” Another, on what it is like when you grip something at the wrong angle: “sometimes it’ll hit you just right and y swear you got hit with voltage”. Not one of us had ever taken anything for it that covered more than one row.

Other people, in their own words

Comments from public trades threads about hands and joints. Nobody here is talking about Strides Daily and nobody here was asked about it.

“I’m only 33 and my hands are already shot”

Electrician, 33 yr

“25 yrs in... I was gung ho in my twenties, didn't take care of my body like I shouldve, and now at 48 yrs old I'm paying for it.”

Electrician, 48 yr

“After 25yrs, knees, ankles, hips, lower back, wrists, elbows, ...  I stopped working in the electrical field approximately 7 yrs ago. My body was not being kind to me anymore.”

Electrician, 55 yr

“Always standing, crouching, leaning over a table, head tilted down, even a light helmet gets heavy, hands have to be steady(ish), always holding something, carrying something, pushing/pulling.”

Welder, 42 yr

You do not need the other three points to act on that one. Whatever you tried and wrote off was a seventh of the job.

KEEP MY GRIP

3. Covering four parts costs capsules, so count what they want from you

There is a catch in covering four instead of one. More actives usually means more capsules, and the big number on the front of a bottle is almost never the number in a capsule.

A bottle advertising 1500mg often means four. Some want six. I have counted nine on a label. Turn it over and read the serving size before you read a word on the front, because that number is what covering a whole joint costs you every morning, and you already know how a nine capsule morning ends on a work day. You do it for a week and then it lives in the glovebox.

Strides Daily is two a day, with food. Not four, not nine. A regimen you quit covers nothing.

4. Two weeks of nothing is not a red flag

Look at that speed column again. The soreness side moves first. The cushion and the connective tissue are the slow ones, because that is what those ingredients do.

So the first two weeks can feel like nothing, and the smaller things tend to ease around week four to six. That is the honest shape of it, and it is exactly why every man you work with tried something for a month and came back saying the aisle is a con. They quit three weeks before the slow half was due to show up.

I will say the other part too. If your hands are getting worse, go and get them looked at by somebody whose job that is. This is joint support and it is not a reason to keep putting that off. I put it off for six years.

5. Count it yourself. Then go and keep your grip.

This is the only thing on this page worth anything and it is free.

Do not believe me and do not believe a thread either. Pull up the supplement facts panel and count the actives. Then go and count what is on whatever is in your cabinet, and mark which of the four rows it lands on.

You will replace a tool the day the grip goes on it without thinking twice. That comparison is the whole reason I bought. There are 60 days to send it back, so the only thing this test costs you is the counting.

What I am actually buying is a grip that still works in ten years. Ninety days of it is $59.98, which is 67 cents a day, and sixty of those days come back if I want them.

What keeping your grip costs

Seven actives across all four parts of the joint, every amount printed on the panel

Two capsules a day with food. Not four, not nine

Fermented glucosamine, so it is shellfish free

Made in the USA in a cGMP registered facility, batch tested

60 days to send it back, which is longer than most men give a bottle before they quit on it

3 bottles, 90 days, $0.88 a day

Two capsules. Ninety days. Sixty seven cents a day.

How long before you notice anything

Here is the honest version, same as what is on the bottle.

It builds over the first two weeks. Through those two weeks most men notice nothing at all, and that is not a sign it is failing. The soreness actives move first. The cushion and connective tissue are slower by design, and the smaller things tend to ease somewhere between week four and week six.

That is why the guarantee runs 60 days rather than 30. One bottle is 30 days, and it runs out at exactly the point where it is still too early to know anything. Two bottles is the honest quantity for the test, and the third is free.

Who this is not for

Worth being straight about who this is not for.

The capsule shell is gelatin, so it is not suitable if you are vegetarian or vegan. Shellfish free is not the same thing as either.

White willow bark contains salicin. If you are on blood thinners, or you are sensitive to aspirin, speak to your doctor before you start. Same if you are already on something prescribed for your hands or your joints.

And if your grip is going, or you are getting numbness, or a hand is waking you up at night, go and see somebody about it. That is not what this is. This is joint support, it goes alongside what a specialist tells you, and it is not a reason to keep putting the appointment off.

Where you can actually get it

Only on the Strides Daily site. Not in a pharmacy, not on Amazon, not at the merchants, and not through a third party seller.

Three bottles is $79.98. That is 90 days, 88 cents a day, and it exists because a 60 day test needs more than the 30 days a single bottle holds. The third bottle in that pack is free.

One bottle is $49.99 and runs 30 days, which is the pack that runs out right when it is still too early to tell. Five bottles is $119.97, 150 days, 79 cents a day. You have spent more than that on a tool you use twice a year.

Subscribe and save takes 25% off and you can stop it whenever.

The free third bottle only exists on the three pack, and the three pack only exists here.

Questions people ask first

What makes this different from what I already tried?

Coverage rather than strength. Most bottles are built around one of the four parts of a joint. This has seven actives across all four. Whatever you took and quit on is almost certainly one of the seven.

How big are the capsules and how many do I take?

Two a day, with food. That is the full dose, not the per-capsule figure. There is no four-a-day or nine-a-day version of this.

How long until I notice anything?

It builds over the first two weeks and most men notice nothing in that window. Smaller things tend to ease around weeks four to six. Nobody here is promising you a week.

Is it safe with what I already take?

White willow bark contains salicin, so check with your doctor if you are on blood thinners or aspirin sensitive. Same if you are on anything prescribed for your hands.

What if it does nothing?

Sixty days to send it back. That window is deliberately longer than a single bottle lasts.

You have spent more than sixty dollars on a tool you use twice a year, and that did not come with sixty days to change your mind.
